    One of my friends in English Department has a part - time job as a private teacher for Junior High School children. She says that she is doing that job not only to improve her English ability but also to help fulfill her daily needs because she is far away from her parents and she does not want to be a burden for her parents in her hometown.
    She also shares about her experience to manage her collage time with teaching as a private teacher. She says that if she does not have any homework in college, then she will prepare materials for private course.
    Now, she is really enjoying her time being an ED's student and a private teacher. I'm proud of her because she can manage her time so well for studying and also teaching..

  3. Classroom Environment

    My friend said that she is really happy to study in English Department because of the environment is good. The college is not in the big city so we don't have to get any pollution or traffic jam or a very hot weather instead.
    The teachers are so friendly and funny. They are strike, in this case is discipline, but they actually do the best for us.
    She also said that she have got many new friends from other region like Bali, Kupang, Ambon and also Timor Leste. The people are humble and friendly. It's feels like home being with new friends like that.

    I already interviewed one of the ED student named Ruth Ima. She’s in her first year and majoring English about one month.
    She said that she likes relationship between students in ED and the lectures, it quite nice and good. The student is funny and the lectures is very kind. Each lectures have different characteristic so one with each other’s different but all of it very nice.
    She enjoys her time in ED, she likes all of the courses, and the lectures too.
    She thinks we should respect to each other so we can get along better and make ED’s situation more fun. The lectures is older than us but we can be friend with them. She hopes all of ED’s student and the lectures can increase their relationship and increase the communication too.

    I already interviewed one of my friend. She is Monica. She is major in English about one month. She has a lot of activities.

    For the first time in Satya Wacana Christian University,she joined in drumblek team. She practiced drumblek every day in the afternoon. She joined drumblek team for carnival. And for the result,she and the drumblek team of Satya Wacana Christian University gave their best performance in Satya Wacana Christian University’s carnival.

    Monica takes five courses in this semester. She is study from 07.00 a.p until 06.00 p.m . In her free times,she raeds the novels which she borrows at library of this college for her Extensive Reading’s assignment.

    She tried to join English Department’s drama performance,but she failed. She felt sad,but she tried to move on. She’s going to join English Department Dance and Voice’s audition. She likes dance and sing a lot. She thingking of joining English Department Football Club. She believes that in English Deparment,she can improve her talents.

    Right now,she is busy preparing the English Department Welcoming Party. English Department Welcoming Party will held this weekend. Every day she always meets her friends in her group to talking about English Department Welcoming Party. She feels tired,but she enjoys it.

    I have interviewed one of my friends named Wenda Insani Wangi(112011001)about her opinion to ED student's activities such as EDvoice,EDdance,EDventure,etc. She answered that ED student's activities are not an important activity for us because they're just a kind of entertainment for us to relax from the lessons, the functions of following that activity id to fulfill the point of talent and interest,and they have the purpose to make a friend so every angkatan know each other.
    Although until now she hasn't join any activity yet because she heard a lot of activities and that's makes me confused to choose.

  7. "ED Teacher-Student Relationship"

    I have already interviewed one of my friend in Interpersonal Speaking class. She said; at least one month she studies in ED she have a good relationship, respect one to each other and do her best in study for her responsibility.

    And maybe in classroom she will be brave to tell about her opinion in certain lesson without scared feeling, also she can learn about their(lecturers & student) caracteristic.

    If she get a bad mark from certain lecturer and in fact she can't do her best to answer the question from the assignment or the examination she'll be not angry and she'll keep a good relationship with the lecturers.

    ED- classroom Environment

    I already interviewed one of my friends named Yuni. For Yuni, English department classes sometimes feels hot. There is no fan or air conditioner in it. It’s true that the classes have many big window but that aren’t help enough. Beside that the table is too small. The space from a table to the other table is very narrow too, so, the student can’t sit comfortably. Beside that, some classes are dark. But the class is wide enough for the student, it also always clean. The white board also so flexible it can be moved on when needed. And, the existence of the LCD in every class really help student, for learning material by more attractive way or for presentation. So far English department classes just need a little attention to make it more comfortable and support learning process.

    This early evening,I interview my friend,Dewi Ratoja.And we talk about ED activities.In ED,there are many activities,which we can bundle.In her opinion,only 3 KBM,that interesting her.There are ED Voice,EDRT,then ED Dance and Debat.Beside them,another ED activities are not interesting for her.like ED Pow.She suggest to seniors,if want to make peoples join in their program,they should make their program can attractive people,especially the eleveners.so we can join in their program.

  10. ED-Student Housing

    I've interviewed one of my classmate, his name is Vinsensius Gilang. He is major in English, and this is his first semester to study in English Departement. He is from Ambarawa and he don't live in boarding house in Salatiga. Everyday he goes to campus by bus from his home in Ambarawa. He must wake up at least at 05.00 a.m and goes at 06.00 to take the bus to Salatiga. The bus fare from Ambarawa to Salatiga and otherwise is just two thousand rupiahs. But if he goes home late, he will be hard to find a direct bus to Ambarawa at night, so he must take the bus which go to Bawen Bus Station in Semarang then go to Ambarawa by change the bus in there, so he must pay four thousand rupiahs for a trip from Salatiga to Ambarawa.

  11. "ED Student-Teacher Relationship"

    I have interviewed one of my friends. His name is Richard. He is major in English in Satya Wacana Christian University since a month ago.
    I interview him about teachers and students relationship in Satya Wacana Christian University. Richard said that the teachers in the University is friendly and they have good teaching method so the students can feel comfortable and enjoy the class.
    So far, he don’t know all the teachers close. But he said, soon he will try to make a close relation with all the teachers in the University especially in English Department.
    Richard has different teacher for each class. For example, his Extensive Reading class teacher is Mr. Tri Buce, his Integrated Course teacher is Mr. Andrew Thren, Ms. Listyani, etc.
    Richard said that his favourite teacher in English Department is Ms. Annita, his teacher for Interpersonal Listening class. The reason why he like Ms. Annita is because Richard likes Ms. Annita’s teaching method. Richard said that Ms. Annita has a special method so he can always enjoy the class. Richard also wondering why most of student afraid of Ms. Annita’s class. Perhaps they afraid of Ms. Annita’s class because they often come late to class.

    This afternoon,I had interview my friend,Adi Nugroho.We are talk about ED-Activities.In ED-activities,there are many selection.But Adi only like footsall.He interest it,because he like football very much.
    He often said about ED voice,He comented if ED voice is wonderfull.Because in the activities,he can hearded beautiful voice from kakak angkatan.And he can enjoyed if there is a show.Maybe he will join this program.

    ED classroom environment

    I have interviewed one of student in ED, in the same class listening with me, I aksed her about ED classroom environment, she said first that sometimes she feel so hot in the IC class because its so full but there is no AC or windows open in that class,and she feel so cold in listening class, but in this college she feel the air is so fresh because there are a lot of trees and park around.
    she said that in ED the teachers are discipline, we must arrived before the class start, at least ten minutes after class start we can join but over we must go out.
    she also said with me the all class is comfort altough its looks like old but she enjoy study in there.
    and the last she feel happy because she can see all type of cars around the yard.

  15. I have already interviewed my friend about her activities. She say that she very busy, because she must concentrated in Makrab and her study. In the one hand she must finish property which use when Makrab this Saturday, in the other hand there are many assignment and homework which she must finish one time. So, before she go to campus, she always check her assignment or her homework, it’s has done or not yet.. Then, she go to campus and enter her class. When she have finished her class, and wait her next class, she go to canteen or alfa mart to buy some food,then she work about her property Makrab. Until time for she enter next class..

    In this evening, I had interview my friend, her name is Dita.
    She is a new university student in UKSW. She majoring English.
    Tommorow is her first exam for IC Class in ED.She is very nervous and afraid about the exam, because IC is the most difficult subject than others. But she never give up, she will study hard to get a good mark. She will do the best for the exam.

    I interviewed her about student activities.
    She said that she didn’t join any activity in this university or in ED.
    She do it because she didn’t can set her time in her busy time.
    Yes…she was very very busy….
    She also didn’t know more about student activities.
    But actually, she was interested in student activities..She will join some activity like dancing, singing, vocal group, etc in next semester.

  19. ED Classroom Environment


    I ask my friend who belong in English Department about classroom environment, he said to me that it was good when you enter a higher level of education along with new classmates, teachers, a new system and also a new environment of classroom. We got new opinion, different thought related to other people we had met and known.
    In ED he said that the classroom environment in ED was good, he got a new shape of chair although it is more little than what he got in High School, but he enjoyed it. For the wall he said to me that it was a little ugly and funny for someone in 18 until maybe 23 years old still scratch some words on it without felt that it would make the wall in pretty bad condition, also there is LCD projector in each class that will help students to understand more easily, but nowadays it was must have device for a college, he thought. Besides the other things that visible, he also said that there's still gap between the students, whether the black one and the white, the rich and poor and so on. He said that it was very annoying to see and he -the other people too, I believe- hated it. He wished that someday students can walk together no matter who they are as a comrades.

  20. ED-Classrooms and Environment

    i have interviewed my friend in English Department
    , he's Evan Januar ..
    He loves the situation of IC classroom especially Mr.Andrew's class. He said the classroom will feel so interesting when Mr.Andrew talk about kuntilanak,pocong and tuyul.
    According to him the environtment is so convinient. The weather around campus is'nt hot and is'nt cool too, so we'll feel comfortable here, especially in F building .
    But Evan said that he very unpleasant when he find ex-bubble gums and candies which are sticked under the chair, it's so disgusting .
    But he's still enjoy study in here...

    I've interviewed one of my friends, his name is Gilang. He is one of students of English Departement. He come from Ambarawa. I ask him about classroom environment. He said, he very happy in ED Satya Wacana Christian University because he can found other student from many place. He also said the classes are very comfort altough he feel so hot in F build not for LL. He feel so cold in LL because there is many AC.
    He also said, he feel very comfort with the teachers. And the last question from me, " Do you enjoy with our college?"...He said '\"yes, i am...very very enjoyed...

    ED - Classroom Environment

    In order to complete this task, I ask one of my friend Aline (112011072) who is studying English at English Department. I have a little chat and then I asked her opinion about our classroom environment. She said that the room was great and it is already become an appropriate place for studying because the teacher can use the LCD player to help them in many ways, such as display pictures and materials, convert a huge size materials in one simple presentation and so on. Moreover she loved the class condition itself because it has enough sunlight due to the big-wide windows and also the electricity which is always ready to be used by the students and teachers. She little bit concerned about the cleanness of the room itself because she saw a lot chewed gum were stuck under the chair. For a girl who love sanity, it's pretty disgusting. She also said, overall the facilities within the classroom is pretty good, moreover there is Wi-Fi facility which is very useful for the teacher and students because it becomes handy when you have to look for an example or an material to be taught from the internet. In addition, she said that ED is the best place for studying English and she was not do a wrong thing by choosing Satya Wacana Christian University as place for studying.

  23. I’ve interviewed one of my friend, her name is Rinta. She is one my close friend here. I ask her about her activities after she study in college. She said that college life was interesting and so college activities. She mean that she must done so many works and assignments. From made costume for carnival until extensive reading assignment that make her a little bit dizzy because she didn’t like reading at all. And now, she have to prepared anything for MAKRAB next Saturday. Making this and those, so many... and that’s feel like unfinished works. Even more she must finish two reading journals that have to submitted tomorrow. She said that tonight would be a mad night, because she have to study for IC test next morning, made listening assignment and also two reading journals. At last she said that she was very busy but she enjoyed it.
    It’s secret “She’s just got a new boy friend” :D

I've interviewed my friend, her name rintha nariza, I asked about teacher-student relationship .. and from there I learned that rinta have two favorite teacher, they're miss kalaly chu, lecturer speaking and also miss Annita, lecturer listening. according rintha, miss kalaly is a lecturer who was very beautiful, even when miss kalaly was giving lessons, rinta looks very concerned, (but certainly sure if she just noticed the beauty of Miss kalaly, hahaha: p)

    and the reason why rintha like miss Annita is because the lecturers are quite expressive in presenting the material ... :)

  25. I've interviewed one of my close friend in English Department. i ask her about student activities. She told me that this first semester was very busy for her. started from OMB, made costume carnival, be a model for the carnival, many homeworks, etc. she said it just like never ending suffering and have no time to relax. and now? we will face the welcoming party, and i know it will be so busy again. but, she said that being a student in English Department was very nice, although she said before that it just like never ending suffering but English Department have a lot of fun. She try to enjoy the suffering hahaha, and the most crazy homework is make a reading journal and most of us are hate reading!! she believe that this is the best way to get success, never ending suffering but she still can enjoy it with new friends, and college life.

I ask to him about English Department teacher - student relationship, He said that the relationship between ED teacher and student very needs improvement because it can increase student enthusiasm for learning and make study time fell so fun. he think that lecturer was a friend of learning that should make us comfortable, it can be the way between ED teacher and student for a good relationship.
    and then i ask to him,"what do you think about the lecturers at this university?", he answer,"I think the lecturers is kind, although the outside looks like a killer lecturers". and I laughed at him.
    the point of this interview is we should be able to make good relationships between teachers and students in our university.

    Hello Mam, I have interviewed my friend in ED. I choose the ED teacher – student relationship.
    FBS is a good faculty, in ED good lectures and teacher – student relationship like friend. When the students do not know about education they learnt, they can have discussing. As ED students, we have many fortunes. By the way, teaching and learning process is very interesting but it depend on the lectures and the lessons.

  29. I have interviewed a student in ED about teacher-student relationship.Her name is Rida.In Rida’s opinion the teachers in ED are interesting ,especially Mr. Andrew and Miss Anita because they are friendly, and easy going.
    The students in ED are interesting because they are from many different regions in Indonesia.They can share their particular language and teach each other. They are funny and friendly, although from different regions they can easily become friends. Some of them have a same dream such as become English teacher , but they can be rivals to show who is the best among the others

  30. In widya's opinion she was taking 20 SkS.Courses taken are IC,Interpersonal speaking,Interpersonal listening,extensive reading and MKU.
    Every day she always very busy.After the lecture,she went on the extensive reading task.Her lecture from 9.00 a.m until 3.00 p.m.Other campus activities are SHED and tutorial.She was following tutorial on Thursday at 2.oo p.m until 4.00 p.m and on Saturday at 8.oo a.m until 10.00 a.m. Lately she is busy for preparing for makrab.she studies if there is spare time.

  31. ED Student Activities,
    It means that many of activities or events in English Department where the student is the big part or the majority of the events’ implementation. I had interview my friend who also a student of English Department, Wahyu Bangkit P (112009058). He argued that Ed student activities mean events in English Department that the student is the big influence in implementation of the activities, even the student may be the crew, participant, or supervisor itself. Wahyu ever joined many events before as a participant. For example:
    LOVED, it is an event where the participant not only the student but also the entire teacher in English Department should be join in the competition. The student divides in each angkatan, and they work together, they have to express their ability to compete other angkatan. Loved is the competition in, academic area such as: drama performs, dance, yel-yel, edrace, telling story, spelling be, etc.
    EDO, it is an event that the participant is all of the students. Edo or English Department Olympic is the competition in sport area. Like in loved, student divides in each angkatan and should be compete other angkatan in sport. The activities are like football competition, basketball, volleyball, and many other mini games.
    There are many student‘s activities that we can find in English Department beside both events above such as: drama performs, edfl, edbc, edpow, edventure, edfm, and so on. The purpose is to develop the ability, skill, talent, or hobbies that student have in positive way.

  32. I asked my friend in English Department about relationship between teacher and students. According to him, some lectures have good relationship with students. Not only in class, but also in outside, they say hello to each other and sometimes they are gathering at cafeteria. But there are also some teachers who have bad relationships with the students, the intention seemed indifferent and ignore. He added there are several factors that make all this. Similar to, the students liked the ways as the teachers teaching, so there is communication between them. The factors that make those relationship is not harmonious, like recalcitrant students, lecturers are not easy give good grade, students do not like the ways teachers teach, etc. He considers that the relationship between teachers and students, depending on the individual character of each.

  33. I have already interview my friend,she is one of the ED student. She live in Boyolali ,so she must commute from Boyolali to Salatiga everyday.
    At the time she have new activity ,she is following theater extracurricular in EDRT, she like acting very much. She was interesting in theater since in Senior High School .
    In her spare time,she always reads novel. That’s good activity.
    Now ,she is have busy to preparing Test IC .She want get the best score in IC . Good luck to she ! 

  34. I interviewed my friend about ED students’ activities. In the beginning, I asked him these five questions below:
    1. Do you think ED students’ activities are interesting?
    2. What students’ activities are interesting for you?
    3. From those students’ activities, do you think those are enough?
    4. Along you studying at ED, how is your activity?
    5. Besides lecturing, what are your activities?
    And he answered:
    1. Not really interesting for him.
    2. He is interested in sports activity.
    3. ED students’ activities are not enough yet, it seems that we have limited activity.
    4. Do the assessment of each course taking this semester and join some KBM in ED.
    5. Beside lecturing and studying, he joining ShED, sporting, playing games, and also join KBM at ED.
    I tried to clarify some statements that make me curious, and here are the results:
    When I mentioned some sports KBM, he then said these are quite interesting for him, but the others are not. Then, I asked him to give suggest about what activities should added to ED, and he mentioned futsal and entertainment activities such as acting. It was make me laughed actually, because we already have EDFC for the futsal, and we have EDRT and ED annual drama performance for students who like acting. I joke him about his don’t know. Apparently, for the futsal KBM he also already know, but he cannot join it because its meeting is every Sunday, and he always go home on the day.

    My closest friend who is now studying in English Department is an energetic person. Her behaviors and actions show it. She is not only energetic but also actively participates in a lot of activities. Besides spending her time studying in English Department, she is also involved in many activities in English Department, such as joining in KBM or as committee of events.
    One of KBM that she joins in up to now is ShED (religious KBM). Furthermore, she joins in LK (Lembaga Kemahasiswaan) of ED as the coordinator of fund-raising field. Despite having been joining in LK of ED, she is also involved in “Hunchback of Notre Dame” drama performance as crew. That is the new one activity she has.
    She said that she really enjoy what she is doing now although sometimes she is unable to keep up her time management well. Nevertheless, she views it on as a chance.
